The purpose of this accessory to is facilitate BMS communication on models that do not come with built-in BMS port and it supports Pylontech BMS (PYL) as well as MPP Solar default BMS (LIB) protocols. Models compatible with the RS485 BMS box include:
- HV2-5048
- MPI 5K / MPI 5.5K / MPI 10K
- LV6048
The BMS RS485 box is available in two versions: BOX and CARD. An intelligent PCB card can be removed from box to be used with MPI hybrid models by inserting it into the built-in “Intelligent Slot” . This will enable direct BMS communication with many Pylontech battery systems.
Alternatively, users may use connect BMS box via RS232 port to establish BMS communication if the “intelligent slot” is already occupied by other accessories. Other than the listed compatible models above, inverter compatibility to the BMS box will need to be verified individually by serial label and CPU versions.
